We believe a woman's beauty is enhanced by her pretty feet. This summer, take good care of your feet and give yourself toes that look irresistibly sexy in sandals.

Follow our five tips for a home spa pedicure that will prep your feet for your favorite open-toed shoes without putting a dent in your pocketbook. Either have your significant other pamper your feet for you, or grab a chair and do it on your own.

After removing old polish on your toenails with a nail polish remover, give your feet a 5-minute soaking in a dishpan of warm, soapy water. This will soften up your nails and cuticles and make them easier to work with.

Next use a cuticle remover to take off excess cuticle at the base of each toenail. Keep in mind that while you work on one foot, the other should be submerged in the warm water. Use a nail clipper to shorten any toenails that are too long.

Next use Bath Body Junky's (www.bathbodyjunky.com) Pedicure Foot File to smooth rough edges on the surfaces of your nails. If you want, you can follow the foot filing with a pumice stone for removing dry, flaky skin.

Now apply lotion to your feet to soften and relax them. In the Hand & Foot Care section of our web shop, we offer four Asquith & Somerset foot lotions rich in skin-nourishing ingredients that lend a natural boost to your skin health.

Asquith & Somerset foot lotions are available in peppermint (for refreshing and revitalizing), avocado (for its anti-aging benefits), lemon (for restoring skin vibrance and vitality), and arnica (for restoring dry and damaged skin).

Because nail polish is uncompatible with oil-based lotions, you should apply nail polish remover to your feet again to make sure all lotion is removed from your toenails. Afterwards, put in some cotton balls or toe separators and apply a base paint coat followed by one or two additional coats and a top coat.

When finished, look down and admire a job well done. Your pedicure should last about two weeks. Enjoy!
